Alasdair Dempster has just launched a new World Music adventure by taking to the airwaves to present a weekly internet radio programme called "Global Sounds with WorldCelt" which airs on Manchester based station Louder Than War every Sunday 7-8pm.  Listen live here.

TalkingGigs: Music Behind the Music of Sheffield

In 2017 for a fun few months TalkingGigs broadcast a fortnightly show on Sheffield Live! Radio (93.2FM or streamed live at http://www.sheffieldlive.org/player/index.php).

The programme was presented by Charles Ritchie and each week featured a guest who was "something to do with music in Sheffield" - musicians, promoters, deejays, venues, writers, sound engineers, events organisers, people who use music in their work, etc. They talked about what they do that helps to make Sheffield the exciting musical city that it is, and played some of the music that is important to them.

 

For a variety of reasons, the show had to end after just 9 sessions. Maybe it will be revisited again, but meanwhile there are a few treasures to catch.
